VAALPARK & SASOL

WE OFFER IN-PERSON MUSIC LESSONS

Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced and are passionate about music and music education.

WHAT WE OFFER

We offer in-person music lessons in Vaalpark and Sasolburg. The instruments we teach includes piano, keyboard, guitar, violin, recorder, flute, pipe organ and vocal training. We also include music theory in our curriculum because we want our learners to have and in-depth understanding of practical musicianship. For our more serious learners we offer examinations through international exam boards such as UNISA, Trinity College, ABRSM and Rock School. Formal assessment is not mandatory and our non-exam learners are taught in a fun and engaging way, whilst still optimizing their learning experience. All our learners are given the opportunity to participate in performances and eisteddfods throughout the year, should they wish.

At E-Sharp Music we understand that different learners have different goals

We believe that students gain life-long skills such as:

DISCIPLINE

PERSEVERANCE

SELF-CONFIDENCE

AND LOTS MORE...

OUR MUSIC EDUCATORS

We believe that the correct learner/educator fit is imperative to good education. Musical progress is very important to us, but more so are having fun whilst being challenged. Nothing beats the sense of accomplishment when mastering a difficult skill such as playing an instrument. We love sharing our passion!

Dr. Elizna Dempers

Elizna completed her Bachelor of Music at the North-West University in 1999. She also holds an Honours degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Sociology. She graduated with her doctoral degree in visual and performing arts in 2023 with the focus of her thesis on therapeutic instrumental music education and well-being. Elizna finds her inspiration in the joy that music brings to young people and wants to give all learners a platform to receive quality music education which she regards as a right of every child. Elizna loves to play the works of Chopin and Beethoven, but also has great admiration for Bach and Morricone. She also likes to make music with friends and giving back to her community. Her motto: “Carpe Diem!”

Miri Vermeulen

Miri holds an Honours degree in Music which she completed at the North-West University in 2000 and has been teaching music ever since. As a music teacher with more than 20 years of experience, Miri have developed a deep appreciation for the music of Vivaldi.

She have seen first-hand the many benefits that music can provide for children, such as the development of cognitive skills like memory, language, and concentration.

To her, music is not only a means of expression but also a way for children to connect with their emotions and learn to express themselves creatively.

Franz Geldenhuys

Franz studied Opera at TUT and the International Voice Institute in San Francisco. He acts as musical director for numerous productions.

International performances in Austria, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, South-Korea, Australia, Germany, England and America are part of his impressive resume.

Music is Franz’s life. He is adamant that music builds bridges over continents. To him, music is a way of life, not a mere hobby.

He insists that musicians will always grow and will never know everything that there is to know about music.

“In order to compose, all you need to do is remember a tune that nobody else has thought of.”

– Robert Schumann

Elizna loves to play the works of Chopin and Beethoven, but also has great admiration for Bach and Morricone. She also likes to make music with friends and giving back to her community. Her motto: “Carpe Diem!”

Elizna Dempers

Miri loves to explore new places and cultures.  When she is not doing any of the above, you will usually find her curled up with a good book, immersing herself in a story and expanding her knowledge and imagination.

Miri Vermeulen

Beethoven is Franz’s inspiration, because “he coloured the world with magnificent sounds despite being deaf.” Franz’s motto is to live “despite of” not “because of.”  Franz regards music as a privilege.
